The PDS Research and Development department would like to announce the release of the new version of our Development Documentation site. The new site will be available starting on Monday, November 16, 2009. The purpose of this site is to provide a vehicle that supports knowledge exchange between the Vista HRMS developers and those who need to know what we know. We have compiled a series of internal documents that may or may not have been released in the past, and included them along with some new things we put together to provide a basis for this exchange.
Included on this site is a variety of information that has been requested by different people over the recent months and years. Many of the frequently asked questions from proposals, support personnel, consultants, and customers now exist in an FAQ database that is available online.
The site is broken down into 7 main sections.
- The Overview section provides general information such as white papers and frequently asked questions.
- The System section provides information on system setup, configuration, and security.
- The Vista .NET section includes all components involved in front-end development.
- The Back End section contains all aspects of PDS Enterprise Server, the Vista workflow engine, along with database, library, and back-end programming
- The Application section explains some of the more detailed technical components of the Vista HRMS application itself, as well as interfaces to third-party applications.
- The Customizing section contains information for those looking to make modifications to the Vista HRMS system
- The Archive section contains copies of older versions of technical documentation.
The PDS R&D department fully expects this site to be dynamic, and will grow in content over time as more and more technical information is compiled and documented.
After November 16th, this new site will be available from the PDS Support site, where we'll have a new Technical Documentation link within the left frame navigation bar. The new link will read “R&D Documentation Website”. Contact PDS Support to activate access to the new website.
