I got rhythm, I got New Orleans, I got Vista, who could ask for anything more? Those aren't exactly the lyrics to the song written by Ira Gershwin, but it's certainly what I think of when I see the theme of the 2010 PDS Users' Group Association Conference – “Vista HRMS, your Rhythm to Success”. Mark your calendar and make plans to join us April 18th - 21st at Harrah's in New Orleans for some education, exchange, networking, and some fun…New Orleans Style!
The user conference is a great chance to put my favorite past time to good use (take that all you teachers that gave me “Excessive talking” on my report cards)! For me, networking is the number one benefit of attending the conference. Building relationships with fellow Vista users has proved to be invaluable when trouble shooting, or brainstorming on new ideas.
The Brainstorming Event continues to be a huge hit and it only continues to grow and evolve. Numerous features that were added to the most recent Vista HRMS 4.1 version include ideas that you voted for! Salary Administration, Performance Review improvements, Location Security are just a few of the items that you prioritized. Participating in this event is your chance to let your company's voice be heard.
In 2008, “hands-on” workshops were added to the regular conference track. They were a big hit as attendees were guided through various system features. PDS is already busy gathering ideas and content so users can once again return home with an enhanced education to streamline their day-to-day processes. Remember, efficiency is intelligent laziness.
This year we are also very pleased to announce our plans to host a Volunteer effort while we're in New Orleans. I'll be arriving early so that I am ready to roll up my sleeves and lend a hand. Read more about this event on the “Volunteering in New Orleans” page.
If all the reasons above haven't got you already submitting your formal request to your boss, don't forget there will be entertainment, games and prizes. The Steering Committee is looking forward to another fantastic conference. Should you have any questions and/or suggestions, don't hesitate to contact one of us.
See you in New Orleans!
