UGA Steering Committee

The PDS UGA Steering Committee meets regularly to discuss plans for the next conference, review needs of the industry, and suggest product and service enhancements to support their businesses. The committee plays a large role in helping PDS to prioritize PDS development goals.

Each year the Steering Committee meets with the PDS Product Development team, and reviews upcoming product features, and provides feedback. The Committee serves as our go-to network of users when we explore new areas of development. Often Committee members participate in beta testing new versions of the software so that they can review and provide valuable input to the release prior to deployment.

Since 1999 I have been an HR professional at IMA, and since 2000 implementing our HRIS solutions using PDS’ Vista HRMS. In that time we upgraded from Vista 2.4 to 3.0, 3.2, 4.0, and finally 4.1. We made performance evaluations paperless, automated salary administration, and implemented workflows. In 2004 I joined the PDS UGA Steering Committee, and in 2007 was voted chairperson. In that capacity I’ve worked with PDS on new product features, talked as a reference to numerous prospects, and collaborated with many other PDS customers.

In short, the last 10 years have been wonderful – interesting, educational, and productive. But now, in August 2010, I’m about to transition into what might be my most exciting role. With IMA’s blessing, I’ve left them and joined PDS as an implementation consultant, where I can share my experience and expertise with other new and existing Vista HRMS customers.

As such, I’ve obviously stepped down as the UGA chairperson, but will remain on the UGA steering committee as a PDS representative. My last act as chairperson was to encourage Jessica Parde of Nelnet to submit herself as a nominee to replace me, and I am very happy that she was unanimously voted into the position. I know that she will serve the PDS community well.

TeddiAnne Krehbiel
(Former) PDS Steering Committee Chairperson

When TeddiAnne first asked me to nominate myself as the new PDS UGA Chairperson, I was hesitant whether I could 'fill her shoes'. But she soon convinced me that I would be great for the position and my company, Nelnet, would benefit as much as IMA benefited when she was Chairperson.

For those of you unfamiliar with Nelnet, we are a diversified educational services company which provides a comprehensive suite of products and services to education-seeking families and operational products/services to the institutions that serve them. Simply put, the company helps families prepare, plan and pay for education. Nelnet offices are located all over North America, with our corporate office located in Lincoln, Nebraska.

We became a PDS customer back in 2007 after evaluating various HRMS products. We initially went live with the Vista 3.2 version and are now operating on the Vista HRMS 4.0 version. As HRMS Administrator I manage the day-to-day duties related to supporting the Vista system, keeping current on PTF and tax updates, administering manager and associate self service, workflow administration, reporting and interfacing with other applications. I will be leading the project to move up to the 4.1 release early next year.

I have served on the PDS UGA Steering Committee since the April 2008 conference and have enjoyed the relationships that I’ve made as a result. Recently my steering committee peers voted me into the Chairperson position, and I am now looking forward to my new responsibilities.

Jessica Parde
(New) PDS Steering Committee Chairperson
