The conference was a valuable experience and it was great being a part of the Canadian Brainstorming team.  I’m already planting the seed that bcIMC needs a larger presence at the next conference, (so we have representation on the Payroll and IT teams). So here’s hoping!

Brainstorming

Once again at our User Group conference representatives from the PDS User community gathered input and provided PDS with their enhancement ideas and product development suggestions. This interactive, problem-solving event took place at two User Conference Brainstorming sessions.

The User Conference Vista Brainstorming session was a HUGE success! This year the Users were grouped by application area: HR, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, HRIS Administrators, and Technical. There was also one group of Canadian clients who choose to meet as a team to focus on features that were specifically of interest to them.

The first session took place Monday morning. Most attendees brought their own list of product suggestions and networked with other Users as well as PDS staff. Once they reviewed each of the product suggestions each team cast their initial votes for their top choices. Another by-product of the Brainstorming session is the trouble-shooting that occurs when Users are able to share how they have addressed various needs. It is very exciting to hear the ideas that flow through this customer exchange!

The second meeting of the Brainstorming teams took place later in the conference. This gave team members the opportunity to learn more about the new features in Vista HRMS, gain hands-on access to the system in the Vista HRMS Solutions Center and the many workshops, and collaborate with other Users. They were then able to re-cast their votes if they chose. Each team's final top five choices were then submitted for review.

From these top five lists the PDS Product Development group has now gathered an excellent collection of new feature suggestions! This information will help PDS to develop future release strategies based upon the input received.

Click here for the results of the “Brainstorming” exercise that was conducted at the conference! You'll need your PDS Support User Name and password to access the lists.

The "2011_Brainstorming_List.xlsx" contains items added from the 2011 conference event and are sorted by the various Team numbers. Conference attendees may be interested in seeing how other teams voted. Our Development team is already reviewing this list carefully, in addition to many other items that were discussed during the conference event.

See how YOUR input affected our development strategy! In the coming months, we think that you'll be happy to see that your input has directly impacted our short-term development strategy!

I enjoyed the conference. We appreciate PDS' mission of continued improvement to the software. Recruitment will be a significant effort for Shelter in 2012. The improvements discussed during the conference will enhance our ability to implement the platform. It is exciting to see a number of companies adopt and exploit PDS' capabilities. This is one of the aspects of the conference I enjoyed the most.
