PDS’ Vista application relies on Enterprise Server as its behind-the-scenes e-Assistant. Enterprise Server not only runs scheduled jobs but also handles workflows, sends out notifications (e.g., to job applicants), finds potential issues, and looks for work that is coming due or has not been completed. It monitors the entire functioning and health of your Vista application.

But what happens if Enterprise Server has an issue? You can’t rely on it to monitor itself. That’s akin to an employee listing himself as his own emergency contact. (This is where I pause so everyone can go update their profiles.)

(Welcome back.) So, even though Enterprise Server can’t notify you when it is down, you can still get a notification by setting up a separate agent whose one job is to make sure Enterprise Server is still running. It should take you five minutes to do so, and then you never have to worry about it again.

Click here to see how to set up the agent for your installation.  You’ll need your PDS Support user name and password to access the details.
